Somewhere to put the research before it becomes a deck
Research output usually gets written up twice: once into whatever it was collected in, and once into the deck that anyone reads. The second version is where the nuance goes, because a slide holds one finding and the interesting ones are always about the relationship between four.
One surface for the raw material
Interview notes, screenshots, competitor teardowns, survey results and half-formed observations, all on one canvas rather than split across a drive, a notes app and a spreadsheet. Table cards handle the parts that really are tabular.
Affinity mapping works the way it does on a wall: drag related notes together, draw a zone around the cluster, name it. The clusters that will not form are the finding.
Show the working
Connect a conclusion to the three observations it came from and the line is the argument. Anyone reviewing it can follow the reasoning back to the source instead of taking the summary on trust, which is exactly the thing that gets lost between a research board and a research deck.
Callout cards mark what is decided. Quote cards carry a participant's actual words, which are more persuasive than any paraphrase of them.
Reviewing without wrecking it
Stakeholders get the commenter role: they can leave comment cards anywhere on the board and cannot move or delete anything. Viewers get it read-only. The interface adapts to the role, so nobody is offered a button that will not work for them.
When it does need to become a deck, present mode steps through the board full-screen, and high-resolution export renders it at up to eight times scale for print.
What this is not good at
There is no tagging, no cross-board search over card contents by tag, and no way to query "every quote about onboarding" across a year of boards. Organisation here is spatial. For a research repository that has to be queried rather than looked at, this is the wrong shape.
